The majority of us love to travel and see the world if our bank balances and/or our circumstances allow. Staying safe whilst travelling should be a priority for anyone travelling abroad. Please book a consultation to discuss safety advice and potential vaccination and anti-malarial cover.

There’s currently a shortage of Rabies and Yellow Fever vaccines. Please contact us directly to check availability before booking your appointment.
Risks
As with all medication, there is a risk of side effects from vaccinations. It is important to remember that the risk the infections you are preventing by vaccination, could pose far more serious and dangerous symptoms if contracted without vaccination. The main side effects from vaccination is pain at the injection site, feeling slightly under the weather and sometimes a rash can be present.

Children and Babies Vaccines
It is your choice whether you tell your child about the vaccination before they arrive. I will endeavor to make it as quick, pain and stress free as possible. You will be advised if Calpol is advised prior to the vaccination (it is recommended in certain vaccinations only). Please make sure your child is wearing a short sleeve top as the vaccination will be given into the deltoid muscle at the top of their arm. In babies the vaccination will be given into the thigh. Your child can sit on your lap during the vaccination. Please bring a distraction of your/their choice (favourite teddy/toy). Please bring your child’s red book to their appointment and I will be able to update it for you.
Vaccinations & Pregnancy
It is important to tell the nurse practitioner if you are pregnant. Travel and vaccination decisions/recommendations will be impacted by pregnancy, it is also important to know how far into the pregnancy.
Occupational Vaccinations
It is important that you are adequately vaccinated to prevent the risk of infections, especially those that are at high risk of infection such as those who are employed in waste management, working in healthcare or those who work with high risk individuals. The vaccinations that are on offer for Occupational Vaccination purposes: Hepatitis B Hepatitis A and B Hepatitis A and Typhoid Tetanus, Diphtheria and Polio A receipt will be provided should you need to claim back the cost of your vaccination from your employer.
